“The percentage of Millennials who said it was important to keep abreast of political affairs fell, from 50% for Baby Boomers to 39% for Gen-Xers, and 35% for millennials. The notion of “developing a meaningful philosophy of life” decreased the most across generations, from 73% for Boomers to 45% for millennials.
Millennials show a willingness to vote more than previous generations. With voter rates being just below 50% for the last four presidential cycles, they have already surpassed Gen Xers of the same age who were at just 36%.”
—The University of Michigan’s “Monitoring the Future” study of high school seniors (conducted continually since 1975)
With less interest in developing a cohesive worldview and keeping abreast of political affairs than that of previous generations WHILE HAVING AN INCREASED willingness to vote and desire for social change, Millennials are making a wretched bed for themselves. The sort of country we will be by the time they are my age and beyond is going to be bleak without divine intervention.
Those of my generation and beyond who are pandering to the whims of Millennial self-absorption are not doing them any favors. Too many of us are silent while they are destroying their own futures. Too many churches are more concerned with providing a “safe space” for snow flakes than proclaiming the whole counsel of God. Have we forgotten that Hell is not a “safe space” for anyone, especially snow flakes?
Really, you’re a meanie. You deserve Facebook prison!
