And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:1-11
Having come upon these times on the world’s stage note the players. There are “our brethren” and “the accuser.”
The accuser having, relentlessly brought the sins of the brethren before the throne of God as if to say, “These are mine!!!” Oh, helpless lot are these, for they are indeed guilty—but wait!!! The accuser is cast down, but how? “By the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.”
This, oh dear reader, is the faith of the saints in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Christ’s blood is alone effectual to cleanse us from all sin and rebuke Satan, our accuser. Satan may accuse you of your many sins, but it is all for nothing if Jesus has made you whole. There is then no claim the prince of this world may make upon you.
Do you rest easy in your profession of Christ? It is indeed an easy rest, for Jesus has conquered death and Hell. But answer this one thing; Do you love your life more than Christ? Will you die for Him? Living, will you lose all for Him? Note, the “brethren” so blessed in this text, “loved not their lives unto the death.” Will you suffer for Him? Will you die for Him?
Satan has many servants in the world who will tell you that you may yet get along with the world and live in peace. All you must do is but bow to the beast. Make your peace with the world and all will be well. But this is not the way of strength and salvation and of the kingdom of God.
Do not be deceived, if you will not die for Christ, then neither will you live for Him. If you will not live for Him, then you are not of Him…
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:21
